A new home

After a rave review from my friend McKinley, I ventured up to Bothell on Sunday for my first service at Eastlake Church. I must admit that I was a bit nervous about going, since I haven't been to a non-Catholic service before. But the fact that McKinley would be there was comforting. The night before, I spent hours looking at the 60-odd videos they have on their vimeo site. It was really great to see that this church really walks the talk, as I looked at video after video of their service abroad. It was also great to see that there seemed to be a really young vibe at the church, and that the pastors seemed like really great guys.

The video that won me over

On Sunday, I drove up to Bothell and found the church. From the people in the parking lot to the greeters at the door to the people handing out coffee, I had never experienced such a friendly experience. The theme of the day was divorce, and there were several personal testimonies on divorce, as well as a great sermon by Pastor Ryan about the theology of it and what the Bible truly says about it.

Monday, I sent the pastors an e-mail about my experience the day before, and asked if I could sit down with them and discuss my faith journey.

I'm so excited to see where this new journey takes me! And very excited to go back on Sunday with McKinley. :)
